Jeff Price, a native Californian, has lived in Long Beach for over 20 years and currently resides in Cal Heights. Jeff is a graduate of the California public school system and has a BA from Cal State Long Beach, and a Juris Doctor from Whittier Law School. Currently, Jeff is a partner at the Bixby Knolls law firm of Morrison, LaRossa, Price & Iturrioz and practices workers’ compensation law where he protects and advocates for injured workers against insurance companies.
As an attorney, and a member of the community, Jeff has changed people’s lives. As President of the Longfellow Elementary PTA, and Chair of Longfellow’s School Site Council, he works with parents, teachers, staff and administration, to ensure that public education is protected for current and future generations. Never shy to tackle problems, Jeff has met with school board members and Long Beach city staff to work on creative ideas to help with traffic congestion around Longfellow, additional restroom facilities for Longfellow’s 1100 students, and heat problems where classrooms have registered temperatures as high as 95 degrees INSIDE the classroom.
Jeff has volunteered extensively as a tutor and mentor. In 2008, Jeff was honored as the VIP Mentor of the Year for his dedication to helping parolees adjust to life after prison by becoming self-respecting and self-supporting, and to help stop the high rate of recidivism in the California prison system. In 2012, Jeff was honored by Long Beach LAMBDA with its President’s Special Recognition Award for his contribution towards furthering human rights.
Jeff has also been very involved with the community and has represented Californians on the local and state level. Jeff is a Board Member of the California Heights Neighborhood Association, a Board Member of Partners of Parks – an organization dedicated to helping Long Beach’s Parks and Rec Department, a Board Member of Foundation for Early Childhood Education – a Los Angeles County Head Start agency, is a Commissioner with Long Beach’s Citizens’ Police Complaint Commission, and is a Senate Appointee to the Court Ordered and Traffic Related Debt Task Force. Jeff is a former Board Member of Long Beach’s Housing Development Company Board and Public Safety Advisory Commission and is a former State Commissioner with the California Council for Criminal Justice.
Jeff’s lives with his partner, Ed, and their son, Parker, is a 4th grader at Longfellow Elementary.
